If you crash drunk into a policewoman's patrol car, flashing her a peace sign as you flee does not make it all better

A motorist crashed into the rear of a police car and then fled while flashing a "peace sign" early Tuesday, according to an IndianapolisMetropolitan Police Department report.

Clyde Easton, 47, Indianapolis, was preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated; driving on a suspended license; resisting law enforcement; failure to stop after an accident that caused an injury; and failure to stop after an accident.

Police said Easton's maroon 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer slammed into the rear of IMPD officer Jean Deddish's squad car in the 2600 block of Shelby Street at 1:40 a.m., while she was stopped at a light.

The SUV damaged the squad car "severely," according to the report. The SUV sustained "heavy front end damage," the report said.

Deddish got out of the car and told Easton not to leave. But he flashed a peace sign and drove away. He was arrested a short while later, the report said.

It was not clear from the report whether Deddish was hurt.
