If you're 55 and two young women offer to take you back to their place for a threesome, they're probably planning to rob you.
A middle-aged man was lured from a chip shop to a house where he was offered a threesome by two young women, only to be robbed of €920.
Mary Williamson, aged 22, Bantry, Co Cork, pleaded guilty to demanding money with menaces from the 55-year-old man.
Garda Eoin Concannon told Cork Circuit Criminal Court Williamson and another woman lured the man to a house in the early hours of September 5, 2010.
"They brought him upstairs," said Garda Concannon. "They offered him a threesome. He declined but they persisted and got his pants down a small bit. €920 was then taken out of his pocket.
"He tried to get the money back. They got aggressive. They said they had [male relatives] in the house and they would get them to beat him up if he did not leave the house."
A short time before this incident, a man in his 20s was found in a distressed state in Bantry town. He told gardaí he had been robbed of €40 and a mobile phone and had been slashed in the arm with a knife.
Garda Concannon said this second man had met the two women, who invited him back to the house.
"They invited him up to a bedroom upstairs. Then both women punched him and kicked him. One of the women came upstairs with a knife. He decided to escape from the house but he was stabbed in the arm."
Williamson and another woman were later found arguing in Bantry. They were arrested and the stolen cash and the phone were returned to the owners.
Williamson pleaded guilty to robbing the second man.
Defence barrister Pearse Sreenan asked that an early plea of guilty be taken into consideration by the court.
He said Williamson had a drink problem from the age of 13 but was addressing her problems. He said it would be in the interests of both the defendant and of society if she continued in her attempts to get off alcohol.
Judge Patrick J Moran agreed to adjourn sentencing until November 21.
