RIP buddy

Standup comic Robert Schimmel is dead at age 60 after a car accident in Arizona. Schimmel is probably best known for his raunchy HBO specials and guest appearances on Howard Stern's show, notes E! Online. He was also a favorite of Conan's. Schimmel was in a car driven by his teenage daughter when she swerved to avoid another vehicle. She's expected to fully recover.
Schimmel survived non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and wrote a 2008 memoir about it called Cancer on $5 a Day. He was currently awaiting a liver transplant after a bad blood transfusion gave him cirrhosis.
