okayyyyyy?????

The Assembly of the formerly great state of California can’t pass a budget on time, can’t fix the water infrastructure, can’t even pretend to fix the Corrections system, but by god they can keep us safe from grocery bags.
The Assembly today passed AB 1998 by a bare minimum of 41 votes.  If it passes the Senate and is signed by the Governor, it would require stores to charge from 5 to 8 cents each for bags which must be made of recycled material.
