Faizon Love
A man alleged that comedian Faizon Love attacked him Wednesday in a West Hollywood hotel, the sheriff's department reported.
Deputies went to the Standard Hotel, 8300 W. Sunset Blvd., about 1 a.m., but Love was not there, said Sgt. Kristin Aloma of the sheriff's West Hollywood Station.
"There was an allegation of a battery," Aloma said. The alleged victim declined medical treatment, and deputies took a report, Aloma said. Detectives will handle any follow-up.
The story was broken by TMZ.com. It reported that Love was sued in June 2007 for allegedly assaulting a woman who was a former stage manager in one of his productions.
Love, 40, appeared in the 1995 movie "Friday," portraying the character Big Worm; and appeared most recently in the 2008 movies "Days of Wrath" and "Of Boys and Men," according to the Web site IMDb.com.
