Joe Braza interview
Once again, Mike, I am honored that you would like to know more about the Joe Braza. So here goes nothing.
1. How long's Joe Braza been doing comedy?
I've been doing comedy off and on since '96. When I started, I did a lot of ethnic comedy as I am Filipino. Then, I moved onto performing observation-type material. I didn't fully commit to performing the current "Joe Braza" act until recently, say about 3 years ago. And I can honestly say that I do enjoy doing it.
2. What does Joe Braza bring to the table
Joe Braza brings Joe Braza to the table. Whenever Joe Braza takes the stage, audiences know that Joe Braza's on the stage. You can't miss it. After a few minutes, you start to think like Joe Braza. Then, you start to understand Joe Braza. And pretty soon, you realize that you're not so different than Joe Braza. And through all of this, we become unified and become one.
That's right ma man. Joe Braza brings peace and harmony to the table.
3. What direction is Joe Braza taking comedy?
Joe Braza just wants to bring a whole new take on how comedy can be done. You're not going to hear Joe Braza talk about random observations or the differences between men and women. You not going to hear Joe Braza talk about how hard it was to grow up Filipino, because it really wasn't. What you will hear is Joe Braza talking about Joe Braza. And no matter how different you are physically or mentally from Joe Braza, you will feel magically connected to Joe Braza.
Really, I just want to steer away from the typical stand-up comedy where a comedian will start out with - How you guys doing tonight? Then proceeds to talk about some random observations about unimportant subjects and how it's weird, or stupid, or a variety of random emotions. Joe Braza's comedy has substance. And that's basically, what it comes down to. Comedy should have substance.
4. Where's Joe Braza like to perform?
Of course, like any comedian, I like to perform in large arenas and auditoriums filled with a ton of Joe Braza disciples. But, if it can't be that, I really enjoy the comedy clubs and strangely the coffee houses. I think performing in a coffee house helps Joe Braza stay humble and caffeinated.
5. If Joe Braza had one wish what would it be?
Joe Braza's wish is that one day, humanity will learn to love one another and love Joe Braza as much as Joe Braza loves it. That's right.
Alright
Sincerely,
The Joe Braza
